I prefer grip-mounted shutter buttons, but once my hand has found a comfortable grip on the E-410, my index finger quite naturally rests on the shutter button, so no harm there. Although not as tiny as some I've used on small cameras, it's not very responsive to the touch, and with the large extension of metal that holds the wrist strap, it's sometimes awkward to press the right side of the controller to change the flash mode.I also like that the E-3 has a slightly better grip area on the left of the camera, for better two-hand control when working the menu and looking at photos.

No light lost, no trouble; you get the view you're used to, framed exactly as the capture sensor will see it.
